The Piikani Nation has a considerably larger Commercial Pit. The Nation’s Economic Development and Lands Departments completed the required assessments and studies to advance the project and the formal application for permits have been made to the federal department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada formally known as Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC).
